Ubuntu 10.04

The Ubuntu team is pleased to announce Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Long-Term Support). This release incorporates the Desktop edition and the Server edition. The Server edition can be used on physical servers, on Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud (UEC), and on Amazon's EC2 public cloud. Code-named 'Lucid Lynx', 10.04 LTS continues Ubuntu's proud tradition of integrating the latest and greatest open source technologies into a high-quality, easy-to-use Linux distribution. We are also pleased to announce Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook edition, which is not a long-term support release. Ubuntu 10.04 LTS will be supported for three years on desktops and five years on servers. Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook edition will be supported for 18 months.

Xubuntu 10.04

Xubuntu 10.04, codenamed the 'Lucid Lynx', is the latest and greatest version of Xubuntu. Building on the success of Xubuntu 9.10, Xubuntu 10.04 looks forward to continuing the tradition of being a light-weight and easy-to-use Linux distribution built on top of the high-quality and feature-rich core of Ubuntu. Some of the highlights of the 10.04 release include: Xubuntu now uses PulseAudio to provide an improved audio experience; settings menu has been tidied to make it easier to configure your Xubuntu desktop; the Ubuntu Software Center introduced in Ubuntu 9.10 replaces the 'Add/Remove...' option provided in earlier Xubuntu versions; XSane has been replaced in favor of SimpleScan to ease setup and operation of scanners.

Edubuntu 10.04

We are proud to announce the much anticipated Edubuntu 10.04 release. What's new? With version 10.04, Edubuntu extends on the work that is done in the previous version. Edubuntu's installation is now purely graphical, and allows for LTSP installation directly from the live disc. The Ubuntu Netbook edition interface is now shipped with the Edubuntu disc, and can be installed as an option after the system installation has completed. The new Edubuntu menu editor allows an administrator to create custom menu profiles and apply it to users and groups as well as export them to share them with colleagues or friends.

Kubuntu 10.04

The Kubuntu team is proud to introduce our latest release - 10.04 LTS, the 'Lucid Lynx'. This is our first long-term support release featuring the KDE Plasma desktop. Ubuntu 10.04 Beta 1

Ubuntu 10.04 Alpha 2

Welcome to Lucid Lynx Alpha 2, which will in time become Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. New features: updated packages, Linux kernel 2.6.32, KDE 4.4 RC1; full removal of the HAL package, making Ubuntu faster to boot and faster to resume from suspend; Likewise Open package, which provides Active Directory authentication and server support for Linux, has been updated to version 5.4; improved support for NVIDIA proprietary graphics drivers; new features for Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud....

Mandriva Linux 2010

Mandriva is proud to introduce its brand new release: Mandriva Linux 2010, code name 'Adelie'. Included in this new release, 'Smart desktop' technology, coming from a European research project. Your desktop is tasks oriented. Organize your personal data (mails, documents, images, videos). Notate it, add your comments and tags. Now your data is easy to find through your projects. Boot time has been improved again. Mandriva Linux 2010 comes with 3 brand new designs - choose the one you prefer. You can also choose one of the 11 extra backgrounds contributed by community members.

Ubuntu 9.10

Ubuntu 9.10 brings changes small and large that all have a common purpose - to make Ubuntu the most user-friendly operating system available. Ubuntu 9.10 features a redesigned, faster boot and login experience, a revamped audio framework, and improved 3G broadband connectivity, all of which contribute to a first-class user experience. Furthermore, the innovative '100 Paper Cuts' initiative organised with the Ubuntu Community allowed users to nominate minor annoyances that impacted their enjoyment of the platform. So far over 50 fixes have been committed, removing minor irritants such as inconsistent naming or poorly organised application choices.

Ubuntu 9.10 RC

The Ubuntu team is pleased to announce the Release Candidate for Ubuntu 9.10 Desktop and Server editions, Ubuntu 9.10 Server for UEC and EC2, and the Ubuntu Netbook Remix. We consider this release candidate to be complete, stable, and suitable for testing by any user. Ubuntu 9.10 Desktop edition improves on the work of 9.04 to get you going faster, with improved start-up times and a streamlined boot experience.
